Japan does not provide one EU-style nationwide fixed cash amount for every airline delay. Airline conditions, the ticket contract and any other applicable departure or arrival jurisdiction matter.

Refunds and expenses
Start with the operating airline's own rebooking and refund page. For meals, lodging or transport, verify whether the airline's policy covers the disruption and what proof it requires. ANA and JAL have separate official expense information; one carrier's policy should not be applied to another.

Keep the evidence
Save the booking, disruption notice, actual times, airline response and itemized receipts. For an international itinerary, check whether another jurisdiction's passenger-rights rule also applies.
